Remains

Experimentation and material development from 'Traces of what once was'. Combining white and black porcelain to experiment with forms flowing into each other. In previous work the forms and colours of clay have combined and transitioned together, here the work is controllably rolled together to combine as one. On reflection I found the sculptures using one clay form were more successful.

Slide show of 'Untitled', 2024, 3 x 7cm, Multiple fired porcelain sculptures. Open in wide view.

From previous work texture and deformities were explored. The sculpture was deteriorated from water then fired in that state. Presentation of glass barriers examined how the appreciation and fragility of the work changed in this display. Presentation was also in consideration of the Blaschka glass flowers. On reflection it was found that the barrier took away from the delicate details of the work, and in a sense limited the emotional interaction intended from this work.
